go to xbox.com buy the transfer cable which is about 15$ i think its a ONE time only deal they give you (for the transfer).

Do not use a transfer cable unless all of the data on your brother's Xbox is expendable and transferable to your new 360. The likely scenario is that your brother also would not appreciate having his data sucked off his hard drive. If he won't mind then it is the best way though.

But normally what your best option will be is to transfer as much as possible via a memory unit. You want to especially transfer your gamer profile to your new 360 via the memory unit. To do this you export it from your brother's machine onto the hard drive and then you import it via the dashboard's memory manager onto your 360's hard drive. This will allow you to re-download for free any of the XBLA games you paid for or downloadable content you bought under your gamer profile.

After your profile is taken care of you can easily transfer over most saved game files from your brother's machine to yours using the memory unit. Not necessarily all game saves will transfer easily as some are unnecessarily huge and won't fit on a memory unit. There will be no way to retrieve or transfer those saved games, I'm sorry to say.
