What is the difference between the different Xbox 360 models?

My husband wants an Xbox 360 for Christmas, but I don't know anything about these game consoles. After a few weeks of looking, I realized that are different models of the Xbox. What is the difference between the different models and could you recommend one to me? I don't know if this makes a difference, but he likes to play the car racing games and the war games...if there is any particular model that would be better, graphics-wise, for these types of games please let me know.

Thanks for your help. What is the difference between the different Xbox 360 models?
Well you are right, there are alot of different models

the original xbox

arcade xbox 360

the normal white 60GB xbox 360

and the xbox elite

the original xbox is very old so, its pretty much out of the picture

the arcade xbox, a few friends tell me its not worth it compared to the xbox 360. the arcade one you dont get as much in the bundle when you buy it and only has 20 GB

the xbox 360 has 60GB , comes with everything you need for xbox live, and one month free of live

the xbox elite is the same, in exception for it has i believe 260 GB, but really i doubt your husband would play that much.

Go to future shop, they usually have a great deal on the white xbox 360 for about 299.99 with 2 good games included in it. No one would be able to max out the 60 GB by themselves.
i suggest an elite it has really big memory which will come in handy when xbox experience comes out where you install the games but you still need the disc but will make the fan go alot quieter. and will make it have alot less of a chance of overheating which is a real big problem with xbox's. and for games call of duty world at war, should be a good game and usually good racing games are need for speed, burnout, and midnight club. What is the difference between the different Xbox 360 models?
Graphics wise if you would want better graphics you would need an hd tv or hdmi outputs in the back of your tv the colors are yellow red white blue and green. but if he plays online i would reccomend the elite if not i would reccomend the pro. You should buy him the pro system i will also give you a few titles of games you might want to buy him because he like war games. You should buy him Far Cry 2, Gears of war, and you should get him Fallout 3. I hope this helped you good luck:-)
the arcade is the cheapest and give you a normal white 360 with a white disc tray, a premium gives you a chrome disc tray and white console, whereas with the elite you get a black console with a chrome disc tray.

when you buy the arcade you get nothing with it except a pad and 256mb memory card, whereas with the premium and elite you get a hard drive which is well worth the extra money as they are quite expensive separate....

the graphics and playing quality are the same on each so it dosent matter there.

i would recommend the elite console personally :)What is the difference between the different Xbox 360 models?
Hard drive size . The arcade model doesnt have one so you need to purchase memory cards to save your games.

Depending on whether he wants do load it with music or download games pretty much determines the size of hard drive you need .

I bought a pro with a 60 gig drive .
The biggest notable difference is the HDD size.

The Arcade comes with none but does come with a 512MB card.

The Premium/Pro comes with a 60GB HDD

The Elite comes with a 120GB HDD

Aside from that they are all the same in terms of their performance. I would recommend the Elite or Premium as you would need a HDD to save data, etc.
call of duty 5 is a good war game which comes out november the 13th so its new as well and the models are the normal white xbox and the xbox elie which is black and has more memory like 120 gb where as the normal have 20-60 gb
People are saying memory but its not just that. The Xbox 360 Elite has an HD port. So if you have an HDTV then get the elite.

Heres what each console has

Xbox 360 Arcade - 256mb Memory Card

Xbox 360 Premium - 60gb Hard Drive (the old one has 20gb)

Xbox 360 Elite - 120gb Hard Drive
Here is a site that tells the differences.
THE DIFFERENCE WOULD JUST BE TO AMOUNT OF MEMEORY IT HAS
