The Xbox Wireless Controllers can either take AA Batteries (or AA Rechargable batteries is what I do) or you would need to by the charge kit. To charge a controler, swap the battery pack on the back of the controler with a charge pack and plug one end of the charger into the xbox usb plug and the other into the controler, it charges while you play!!!

How do you charge it and how long does it take?theres the charger that charges 2 rechargable battery packs at once and i think plugs into a wall socket. there is also another that is sold on ebay for like 5 bucks that comes with a usb charger that plugs into ur 360 and the other end connects to the battery pack it comes with. the other option is the microsoft rechargable kit which comes with a rechargable battery and connect to ur usb port in the 360 and to the slot between the bumpers on your controllor. when i charge my battery pack it takes about 2-3 hrs for a decent charge. if you want it to last longer tho i suggest charging it wile you sleep at night (6-8hrs) this option will let you play for like 2days straight and still have like a bar left on your battery indicator. you can also use AA batteries. i suggest the brand that came originally, they tend to last longer than other brand. or you could use rechargable AA batteries (make sure you have a charger for them lol)

you can buy a wire that plugs straight into your xbox and it will charge while you play ?
no point in wireless unles to want to play far away
but if your a hardcore gamer you wanna get as close to the tv as possible
