XBox 360?!?

So I'm thinking about getting an xbox 360 but I'm kinda confused about all this pro/elite/core stuff if someone could please explain that it would be very helpfull.

Also I wanted to know if original xbox contolled can be used with the 360.

Also what would be the best /cheapest way of getting an xbox 360 (core, pro or elite) in Australia (preferably in QLD).

Any info is appreciated. Thanks ^_^XBox 360?!?
If you don't intend on getting online, you don't need a harddrive. The Memory Unit supplied with the Arcade version will be more than enough for game saves.

To get an overview of the differences of all three console models, check the website below.

To answer the rest of your questions:

No, the old Xbox 1 controller can't be used on the 360.

You can connect an external harddrive to the Xbox 360, but you can only play MP3's, movies or watch pictures from the external HD. You won't be able to use it as a storage medium for games or Marketplace downloads.

When deciding wich model you want to buy:

Keep in mind, that if you later change your mind and would like to play online, some games like Burnout Paradise will need a Harddisc for online Multiplayer.

Also, some games like Halo3, Call of Duty 4 and Oblivion can cache some game content on the harddisc to speed up loading times even more.

So if you later intend to buy a harddisc, this will be more expensive as if you bought the Pro package right away, and you are still missing the free headset, network cable and free HDTV compatible cable.

The Arcade only comes with a standard TV cable.

what they said^^^XBox 360?!?
I'm in QLD.

the cheapest way ,

- Local Shop, $388 for 2 games and the standard pack

-ebay, amazon etc.

Different Packs

- Depends what kind of gamer you are, and what things you like and have.
Well...

I don't live in austrailia, but my closest cousin does, so i'll try and help as much as i can!

The core system is just the premium console without any accesories or games.

The Elite is the most advanced of the 360's, it has 120gb hardrive you won't need to get a new hardrive ever!

Im not sure if the orginal xbox controller works with the 360, sorry.

I would say you could get an elite for around $350-400 with a controller with 2 games and all accesories!

If you're not using live get the premium console would only be around $300-350 with 2 games, 1 controller all cables and accesories! You would have enough memory aswell so you wouldnt have to buy a new hardrive!

Hope I Helped :D
ok

elite comes with a 120 g b hard drive, which is great for storing videos, and stuff. It is also black which is pretty sweet!!! But if you dont need all of that storage dont waste the extra money.

the arcade only comes with a 256mb memory card, which is not enough to store anything, and you will have to eventually buy a hard drive anyways.

the premium comes with a 20gb hard drive, which is more than enough space to store game saves, additional content for games, and some videos. this is the one that I suggest, i have it, and have never needed to delete any space.

no you cant use the old controllers, but why would you want to when the new controllers are sooooo sweet?j

Dont buy one used, get a new one with a warrantee because of the red ring of death epidemic!!!!

I have had mine since last february, and have sent it in 3 times, all of which were free btw!!!

I HOPE THIS HELPED SOME!!!!!!
if you can access walmarts webpage from australia then i would say go there and order one over the internet. the premium is the best deal for a normal "gamer". it comes with the cables, a controller, and a headset. as long as you dont do those "hard core" league things, then you'll be just fine. the arcade version does not come with a hard drive, so you would have to buy an additional one [[which would end up costing you more money]]. the elite version in my opinion is for serious "gamers". hope i helped.
