That in a nutshell is the difference and only really matters if you will be downloading games from XBOX LIVE. If you're a casual gamer and are planning on popping in discs than save your money or go buy used,i suppose. What is the difference between an xbox 360 arcade and a xbox 360 elite?
The arcade from what i understand doesn't have a hard drive, the elite does. that is all i know, since i have a PS3.

I would suggest getting a ps3 instead. i have friends with xbox, and they all have problems. and the free internet and wireless capabilities can't be beat. I would hate to pay 50 dollars a year for LIVE when i can use the playstation network for free. plus it has a blu ray playerWhat is the difference between an xbox 360 arcade and a xbox 360 elite?
The elite (or pro) has a hard drive. I have came to the conclusion that a small hard drive is nessesary, as a friend and I tried to do some halo 3 co-op on live, and any co op play, theater mode in halo 3 requires a hard drive. You also need it for original xbox games. I would get the arcade and add a small $20 used hard drive on. Still under half the price of the elite, only 20 more than the arcade, and you can download game demos and play games to thier fullest. I have the elite and love it, though, so if you can afford it, get it.
