How do you Connect and Xbox 360 elite to Xbox live without buying the $100 adapter?

I want to connect my Xbox 360 to Xbox live, but i don't want to have to pay 100 bucks for the adapter. I don't have a computer neer my Xbox. However, i do have wireless internet in my house.

Im wondering how i can do it.How do you Connect and Xbox 360 elite to Xbox live without buying the $100 adapter?
1. use a very long wire (not practical)

2. buy a $100 adapter (too expensive)

3. get it at Costco for $80 (a little less)

4. buy used online for even less (maybe bundled with games)

Take your pick.

Once you have a wireless connection hooked up, you'll be having so much fun, you'll eventually forget how much you spent on it.
Multiple

1) Long Ethernet Cable (via shahedC) (again .. not practical)

2) Xbox 360 wireless adapter (Simplest wireless solution) (Expensive)

3) Buy a third party Wireless adapter (Pelican)

4) Use a Ethernet over Power adapter

5) Use Ethernet over Coax (Netgear)

You can connect it directly to your router using a network cable or if you are looking for a cheap wireless connection you can change an old wireless router into a wireless receiver for your Xbox 360. The total cost of this project can be as low as twenty or thirty dollars, compared to the one hundred dollars Microsoft wants for their little wireless dongle.

This project requires flash updating the firmware on your old router, please note that if you are NOT a technical person, you are better off getting Microsoft鈥檚 official wireless adapter.

For complete details follow the source link below.
Your connection will actually be much more reliable %26amp; suffer less latency with a Ethernet (CAT5) cable, even a LONG one. Your signal will decrease in strength for every 5-7 feet of cable but you won't really be able to tell. If your wireless router has an open Ethernet port/slot on the back, just connect the 2 ends of your Ethernet cable, one to the 360 %26amp; one to the router.

Run the connection test through the dashboard %26amp; you should be in business.

Other than that, there is a fairly tricky way to tether your 360 to a laptop, or even to surpass Xbox live all together %26amp; spoof the connection. Both of these require a fairly extensive amount of tech-dorkyness, so you're better of with the long cable.

Hope that helped! How do you Connect and Xbox 360 elite to Xbox live without buying the $100 adapter?
you need a long cat 5 (or is it 6) cable. what you do is first see how far your xbox is from your roter and then add about 10 feet to that go to a computer story and ask the people working there if they sell long (as long as you need it for say 40 feet) internet cables that you can hook you xbox 360 up to. they should be able to help you from there
yeah, i have a wireless internet connection in my house too, what u can do is, take an ethernet calbe, plug it into the xbox, then plug it into the wireless router and, tada! Connected to Xbox Live.
You can hardwire it from your wireless router to your xbox
