What is the different between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 arcade?

What is the different between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 arcade? Is there different features or what? What is the different between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 arcade?
1) Xbox 360 is a new generation console that differs from the old black cube-like 'xbox'.

2) Xbox has had many SKUs or Stock-Keeping-Unit.. which has basically different Xboxs with variations in their hardware... It's generally results from the arrival of the chipsets that is built in. Newer chipsets get smaller and run cooler. It can also done to create an different packages according to affordable prices. Example, when you go to the store you can choose a package according to how much you can afford to pay.. it could be an Xbox with 20GB harddrive, Xbox with 60GB hdd, Xbox with 120Gb and a headphone and two controllers.. or so on. In a way you could consider the new Xbox Slim as a newer SKU too. But SKUs are important because you not only you can go choose which you can afford.. but also considers the chipset and go with the better one. The tricky part is that SKUs are only presented in terms of differing attachments or accessories. It won't tell you on the box which chipset in inside the xbox.

3) There were Pro, Core and Arcade version. Then Pro and Core got discontinued. Arcade got updated with a chipset called Jasper, which is smaller, consumes less power, and runs little cooler, and most importantly has almost resolved the infamous red ring of death issue or hardware failure from overheating. Then came Elite which is basically an Arcade with same Jasper chipset, and bigger much harddrive, and better bundled accessories.

4) Do not buy Pro and Core or (and old Arcade version).. they might be cheaper.. but they are not only discontinued, but also prone to red ring of deaths or hardware failure.

5) So now there is updated Arcade and Elite (with Jasper Chipset) and the New Xbox Slim (with Valhalla chipset, which runs even cooler).

6) With arrival of new Xbox Slim, Arcade and Elite prices have gone down. I would recommend New Xbox Slim because it comes with 250Gb and built in harddrive. runs quieter and cooler. and there are some good accessory bundle offers. plus it is Kinect-ready. And of'course it looks amazing with shiny black piano finish.

7) However, if you cannot afford Xbox Slim, go for Arcade or Elite. Make sure they have jasper chipset in it. They generally come with a three year warranty. insist on it. go to different stores. or if you could pay few bucks are get a three year warranty go for it. But mostly with Jasper xboxs you will be safe.. but get the warranty anyways.

SO HOW DO YOU TELL A JASPER CHIPSET?

Certainly not from the box and outward appearance.

You can take your seller's word for it or

Take a sneak peak at the bottom of the Power Brick inside the box.

or the the backside of the Xbox itself.

it should read Output DC =150W

12V---12.1A

8) I would recommend Elite, because with Arcade you won't get a harddrive, which you will eventually have t buy separately anyways. And New xbox Slim because it has built in wifi adapter, which in case of both Elite or Arcade.. you'll have to buy is separately for US$99 if you want to access Xbox Live service... So get if can't afford Slim, then get the Xbox Elite with jasper chipset. Prices have gone down. You'll get bundled offers.. might come with headphones, and so on..

OTHER TIPS XBOX OWNERS CAN USE:

I recommend you always install the games you will play most onto the hard drive; not only the xbox runs quieter, but you will also increase the life of your disc by preventing the scratches as the game will run from the hdd.

One important point is not to move the xbox or dangle it in the air when the disc is spinning inside. There is a sticker on the disc tray 'Do not move when disc n tray'. But some stupid people can't read the sticker in front of their eyes and dangle the xbox in the air, which will damage the disc. I don't see any reason why would anyone be dumb enough do that, unless they're dumb haha.

Also keep the xbox horizontal as... the vertical in the advertisements is vertical mainly for aesthetic reasons..otherwise microsoft recommends it horizontal. It avoids being knocked down by mistake by kids or anyone.. And reduces the chances of disk scratches cause if you think about it.. horizontal way is natural way to keep it. Plus I there is a ventilation on the ride side, which can get faced down and blocked when you stand it vertically. which i imagine would block ventilation and cause heat increase and rrod. So I'd recommend keeping it in a clutter-free environment. In a free space, not in a cabinet where ventilation is less. And on a hard surface.

As long as you take care of it, you'll be a happy gamer;)
Its the same thing the only difference is that the Arcade does not have a hard drive and needs to be brought separate If you plan to buy one soon than get the Slim xbox 360 because it has built in wifi and 250 hdd.

There is nothing wrong with the Arcade model if you never intend to use the internet or LIVE.....besides it is only $199.

DO NOT BUY refurnish xbox 360 at all! A brand new Arcade model is the same as a brand new Elite......the "best" now is the newest model called the Slim. The old 20 GB and 60 GB "refinished" used models probably suffered from the over heating problem! What is the different between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 arcade?
There is no regular Xbox 360. There's the Arcade, the Elite, and now the 250GB slim. The Arcade has 256MB internal memory while the Elite has 120GB detachable hard drive and the slim has 250GB internal drive. Besides that, the Arcade doesn't come with some of the extras like a headset and Ethernet cable. It's a good choice for people on a budget or who don't play much. An external 360 drive can be added later if you need the room. Because of the recent release of the slim, the Arcade has dropped to $150 and the Elite is now $250.
lol the price tag .. due to the arcarde having no attachments.. ie hard driveWhat is the different between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 arcade?
The only real difference is the hard drive size. There isn't any difference between them when it comes to graphic and speed capabilities.
